Mem­o­ry and the Pre-Mod­ern North: An Inter­na­tion­al Mem­o­ry Stud­ies Research Net­work Focussing on Viking Age and Medieval Scan­di­navia (MPMN) is an inter­na­tion­al schol­ar­ly research net­work whose pur­pose is to facil­i­tate the appli­ca­tion of the many dif­fer­ent forms of mem­o­ry stud­ies, includ­ing inter- and cross-dis­ci­pli­nary approach­es, to our under­stand­ing of Pre-Mod­ern Nordic lit­er­a­ture and cul­ture.

The net­work looks to pro­mote exchange with­in the aca­d­e­m­ic com­mu­ni­ty about pub­li­ca­tions and oth­er devel­op­ments rel­e­vant to the study of pre-mod­ern Scan­di­navia via mem­o­ry stud­ies. To this end, all inter­est­ed researchers are encour­aged to join our net­work and to con­tact each oth­er through it. We would also be very pleased if cur­rent and future mem­bers would organ­ise work­shops or con­fer­ences on the top­ic of our net­work. We are hap­py to sup­port such projects accord­ing to our pos­si­bil­i­ties.
